Workman launches Building Biodiversity campaign
Workman is committed to promoting biodiversity in the urban environment.
Our ESG credentials and expertise, which have been honed during a wealth of projects over the past few years, mean we are well-placed as a proud partner of the Natural History Museum’s Urban Nature Project, designed to champion nature in the urban environment.
Encompassing this partnership is our Building Biodiversity campaign, which aims to demonstrate the value of nature in achieving ESG goals such as Net Zero, healthier workplaces, and community value.
Through Building Biodiversity, we aim to increase the level of biodiversity projects being undertaken at commercial properties in the urban environment; from the smallest hanging basket or bug hotel, to the largest living wall or wildflower meadow.
To this end, we have launched a Biodiversity Toolkit, now in use by our teams, to enable them to identify and implement ways in which biodiversity can be incorporated into commercial real estate, even where there is little or no outdoor space available. An internal competition is also being run across our managed portfolio during 2021 and into 2022, to identify and celebrate the best and most innovative biodiversity initiatives.
