This asset class now forms an increasingly significant component of investors’ portfolios: our Venture Project Management team is currently advising clients on various residential schemes totalling £500m in value.

From total project management to development monitoring and client representative roles, our Venture team has amassed a wealth of knowledge which is at the disposal of clients looking to invest. We assist with leading investors including Columbia Threadneedle, Federated Hermes, CBRE Global Investors, KKR and Tristan Capital. Accordingly, our Venture team combines a deep understanding of the sector with knowledge of clients’ investment risk appetite and funding arrangements.


The advancement of build-to-rent (BTR), comes as a response to the rising demand for high-quality, well-managed rental housing. Hailed as the fastest-growing rental category in the UK since its inception in 2016, BTR now comprises 171,814 homes in the UK, according to the British Property Federation.

Our expertise across high- and low-rise configurations means we have constant oversight of technical issues, specifically increased fire and safety regulations, for example. Our Venture team is well-versed not only in managing the requirements of government regulations, but regularly pushes for these to be exceeded to meet the often much higher benchmarks set by funds themselves.


We provide whole lifecycle advice to clients investing in Student Accommodation, from pre-acquisition through to development and disposal.

Our Venture team also provides commercial building surveying advice in relation to new-build, conversion, alteration, refurbishment and extension of existing schemes, advising on construction documentation and acting as fund monitor for clients.

Instructions include the delivery of a 200-room new build development in Liverpool and the project management of a new build £16m student accommodation development in Southampton, which encompasses 245 beds and is a clear example of our role in this expanding sector.


For clients investing in the hotel sector, our Venture team advises on acquisitions and development strategies. We act as fund monitors to ensure that our client’s brief is delivered, and their interests protected, mitigating against risk factors.

Recent projects include conducting due diligence advice for a leading institutional fund on their investment in a major central London site, followed by project management services to oversee and advise during the planning stage, and pre-acquisition and due diligence surveys at a Grade II listed hotel in the North of England.
