Our approach to sustainability in property

A tailored approach to each asset

There is no “one fits all” approach to ESG best practice. The scope of service may vary across clients, however, our ultimate focus is always to deliver sustainability, health & wellbeing and social value at an asset level.

Collaborating with all stakeholders

We believe that the successful implementation of sustainability initiatives requires the engagement of all stakeholders at any asset, including occupiers, contractors, the on-site team, and leads through to property and asset managers.

Adopting technology to deliver performance

We continually to develop ways to capture data, drive opportunities and identify technological solutions that meet the ever-evolving ESG landscape. Smart and optimised buildings are fundamental for the scale of reductions we require for long-term targets, while data has historically been onerous to collect. However, we are developing technological solutions to deliver efficiencies and more effective implementation of sustainability initiatives.

Meeting the challenges of the future

The challenges, and opportunities, for the real estate industry to make a real difference to the future environment and communities of which it is part are significant.  We will continue to develop our ESG services to meet these and other future challenges.

Our sustainability services include:

Data Management & Analytics
To help clients’ meet their statutory obligations and their own sustainability targets and benchmarks.

Energy Audits & Building Optimisation
We analyse consumption data, operating practices and assess the potential for implementing intelligent building technology to identify opportunities for greater energy efficiency.

Sustainability Asset Plans
Our Sustainability Asset Plans deliver clients’ environmental targets at asset level by identifying opportunities to improve performance at individual properties and provide a platform for regular reporting and continual improvement going forward.

ESG Due Diligence
We help our clients understand the ESG performance, risks and opportunities of an asset prior to purchase, providing a top-level understanding of risk and opportunities to inform the acquisition process. This can then inform the management of the asset once acquired.

ESG Project Advisor
Our ESG Project Advisor role challenges project teams on (re)-development, retrofit and refurbishment projects, to ensure client aspirations and ESG targets are met. Maximising opportunities to improve environmental performance, our approach ensures that teams think beyond business as usual across the whole project lifecycle,

Net Zero Asset Plans (NZAP)

Our Net Zero Asset Plans bring together a summary of the existing building performance, looking at key areas of impact across energy, waste, water, refrigerants, transport, service provision, fit-out and refurbishment. Opportunities for improvement are analysed and modelled in conjunction with leasing strategies and planned maintenance expenditure, to build up a realistic delivery plan towards Net Zero carbon.
