What three words describe Activate?
Very busy, exciting, and vibrant.
Tell us about your role at Workman and why it’s important for its clients.
As a Marketing Assistant, I handle a mix of digital marketing activities including e-newsletter campaigns, site visits, and tenant liaison. The goal is to improve footfall for the centres we work on. We focus on destination and placemaking marketing, along with activations that enhance the overall experience. We organise events like puppy yoga and flower bouquet workshops to engage visitors.
What is your favourite aspect of your role?
I love how varied it is – it’s not a typical desk job from nine to five. You’re always doing different things, and I really enjoy travelling down to see the events I’ve helped organise come to life. Plus, I’m constantly upskilling, whether that’s learning new programmes, creating social media content, or spotting what’s trending and going viral. There’s always an opportunity to improve.
Is there an event you’ve worked on that you’re especially proud of?
Definitely ComicCon. It was such a fantastic event, and it was exciting to see the variety of activities throughout the day that kept the event engaging from start to finish. It drew in big crowds, and it was great to see a steady flow of people and so much excitement.
How do you hope to develop your role in the upcoming months?
The more accounts I work on, the more I learn to handle unexpected challenges, which I find exciting. There’s always room to improve – whether that’s time management, managing a wider variety of projects, or taking training to upskill myself.
What has been your standout moment at Workman so far?
It’s not one specific moment, but after six months, I’m really settling into the team and the company, and getting more involved in the social wellbeing team.
Are you involved in any employee networks or the wellbeing team?
Yes, I joined the social wellbeing team, which I really enjoy. It’s a great way to meet other people across the firm.
What are your spare time pursuits, and how do they help your role at Workman?
I really like to stay active and enjoy creating my own social media content. I’m always upskilling myself outside of work, which naturally feeds back into my role.
