Property:
Spring Gardens, Buxton
Summary:
The property is an existing 110,000 square feet shopping centre situated in the town centre of Buxton. The shopping centre site includes large open air car parks identified as a potential development opportunity.
Workman was originally appointed to carry out the pre-acquisition survey and due diligence including co-ordination of the M&E, structural, ground investigation, site culvert reports etc.
Workman was then instructed to project manage a large mixed use redevelopment scheme of the car park areas including a Sainsburys supermarket, an 82 bedroom hotel, stand alone retail units, new multi-storey car parks and new public realm areas across the site.
The completed project will add some 120,000 square feet of new development to the site for an approximate cost of £30m. Construction is anticipated late 2008 through to 2010.
The close working relationship with Workman’s Property Managers has ensured that the complex third party rights and interests in the site are all fully considered and allowed for in the redevelopment works. Interfaces with the tenants of the centre and the general public have been co-ordinated within the design of the new works and the construction activities.
